![]() After you beat the boss, you can progress to the next level. The levels also vary in how they play out like some feature mini-boss battles at certain areas of the game and one level even becomes a shoot-em-up level as you get to Battle Glacier, adding to the game's varied gameplay and creative level designs."Įrin: "Yep, and they also progress the story and the events (we'll get to it later) of the game, ending greatly with a boss battle. It really adds to the gameplay and makes it more fun as we go along. I also find it fitting how the levels get longer as you go through the game, showing that these places all vary in shapes and sizes and really show that the game's not as straightforward as it may seem at first. You can only reach certain areas with Lilac, certain areas with Carol and certain areas with Milla, meaning that you don't really play the same level over and over again since there's different routes to take and only certain places certain characters can access. Media Man: "It's very clever how the devs made these levels to be interactive with each of the three girls. They also give you some progression as you start from one area and move to the other." You can use different members of Team Lilac as you use their special skills on how you progress through the levels and the levels also feel lively, like YOU'RE in the game, exploring. And are the level designs any good? You bet they are."Įrin: "The levels themselves are beautiful, atmospheric and well crafted as you travel through jungles, ruins, cities, snow fields and factories finding different routes to get to the end. So of course the level designs will reflect its 90's inspired roots and add to the gameplay. ![]() Media Man: "Given this is a Genesis Sonic inspired game, the game itself is a side-scrolling game where you have to run from start to finish in order to complete it. I'm the Media Man."Įrin/Media Man: "And this is our Top 10 BEST Moments of Freedom Planet." Media Man: "So let's not waste anymore time. Also, this month (July) will be the 2nd Anniversary of the game and to celebrate it, we're going to countdown the best things why Freedom Planet is an amazing game and why it holds up as one of our favorite games of all time!" Heck, I'M a Freedom Planet fan too and I've produced a lot of artwork and stories to express how much I love the game!"Įrin: "Yep and you did a great job on them pal. So you can imagine a lot of people liked it. There's loads of fanart, fanworks and.even porn of the game and the game is actually going to get a sequel next year. The game came out on Steam and GOG.com in 2014 and was a HUGE hit since then. Lilac was turned into a dragon instead of a hedgehog and Carol and Milla had less Mobian designs going for them. ![]() Media Man: "The three main characters of the game are actual Sonic OCs created by DeviantArt member albeit retooled to make them less like Sonic characters. ![]() Media Man: "Mayor Zao was very generous in letting me have this." "Hey Erin, I'm ready for the countdown! Am I just in time to begin?"Įrin: "If you don't know about the game, Freedom Planet was originally going to be a Sonic fangame but changed and evloved into it's own game with their own characters and setting and it took inspirison from the blie blur and also other platformers from the 90s." (He parks the tank and walks over to Erin.) Media Man: "Make way! Media fan in a tank coming through!" (The Media Man comes in, riding a Shang Mu Tank.) (Flashbacks to myself playing Freedom Planet and loving it.)Įrin: "And it's also the topic of this countdown, and also my best friend is joining me today, Scott Tatt aka the Media Man." Erin: "Hello everybody, the name's Erin the Master Gamer and I'm here to talk about something special. ![]()
